I've decided to move this blog over here mainly because I changed email addresses and didn't have a clue how to move this blog over, and also because I'm trying to go freelance in a variety of ways and needed a blogname that coincided with my business name. So I will probably shut this one down over the next few weeks. Anyway, go visit me and leave me a comment (I will like that)
Also thanks to everyone for the lovely comments about my book sculptures, there'll be another chance to see them in a new light sometime in September at a gallery in Heaton, so I'll post details over at the Paperfaerie blog as and when it happens.

Librarians really are dull, but books still rock
I've been working in a library these past two days. I thought I would love it, that I would fall madly in love with books all over again, but I really didn't. It was tedious mundane boring work. It made me miss filing and stuffing envelopes, I was really just a shop assistant in a library standing around for hours on end pretending to look busy. Sometimes I got to repair a book cover (with sellotape and copydex... my bookbinding tutors would have died) that was good, but it really just made me think of my unfinished projects at home, and my bonefolder. So today I am free again, to tidy my flat and revisit my collection of papers. I might go to paperchase today and go and smell the stationery.
I also have a new lodger. He's staying with me for 6 weeks until his house is sorted. It's nice having someone about the place again, he's going to help increase my alcohol tolerance, I think it could be dangerous.

Now what do I do?
I still don't know how this blogger thing works, or how to set my photos right, maybe one of my first post degree things is to learn?
Anyway, the night was a huuuge success, we had over 2000 people come through our doors, when we were only expecting (and catered for) 300, so I got my free glass of wine and two bruchettas and it was lovely to finally relax, though there were some rauchous kids running about the place treating my books like a playground and I had to tell them that they were not toys, and that they would actually fall down if they were swung on, but a part of me wanted to make a book themed playground that could be swung on, only my fishing wire wasn't strong enough, perhaps I have finally found a possible commercial niche.
I received my results the other day, a very satisfying, slightly ecstatic 2:1, well done me, I like to call myself nearly brilliant now.
I've also been in limbo all week, waiting to dismantle the show has meant that I can't go and get my obligatory summer temping underway, and my recent breakup with my boyfriend has made the end of my degree the end of an era.
However the future is bright isn't it? I am particularly excited about getting down to some serious bookbinding, poetry writing and general creativity rushes, and I am preparing to give my first gallery workshop in a few months time, which is scary and really brilliant all at the same time. I think this will turn out to be a smashing year.

Degree Show
Oh well it's been ages since I was on here. I'm going to try and be a better blogger, but then I have had an excuse. So i've pretty much finished my degree now, just waiting on the marks and the small fortune I will be spending on my graduation gown and photos, which I have decided I do need to go to, to get closure from my studying days, and that I actually like the people who I am on the course with and a final knees up would be lovely.
Unfortunately, I haven't yet got my photos back from the degree show night but here are a few I've took since my last post.
